A Dream Come True Having had aspirations to travel to Galapagos for over ten years
From the moment we landed at the Airport it was clear that this place is something special. There was a feeling in the air, the other travellers were calm, but excited and we all knew this was going to be an experience of a lifetime.
Our accommodation for 9 nights was to be a private charter booked with G Adventures. We had our own crew, guide and cook who would look after us for the duration of our trip and what a trip it was to be.
Our schedule whilst on the boat was all planned for us. We would either snorkel in the morning with an island tour later on or it would be reversed. We had a freshly cooked evening meal and then a meeting in the bar area after Dinner. The excellent tour guide gave detailed information about the islands and wildlife we would see and how we could enjoy it without compromising their natural surroundings.
These photos show just some of the highlights. At one point I even asked Susan if this place was actually real. I felt like I had been taken to another world, unspoilt by commercialism. More on our Facebook blog.
Since visiting the Galapagos the BBC & Sir David Attenborough have made a program covering some of the aspects we covered in our adventure, there is a link to Seven World's One Planet here.
Photographs and video on here are from our own trips, they're also copyrighted by us so no reproductions without specific permissions thank you.
