When travelling by road in Italy, hold on to your hats. If you're travelling by motorhome, put your wing mirrors in and get ready for some close calls, sounding horns and very impatient drivers. That's not to say we didn't love Italy but those narrow roads around the lakes and through the mountains can be something of a challenge.

We loved Italy and will certainly be back but one of our dreams though was to cycle in the famous Alpe d'huez region so we drove across the boarder from Italy in to France.
