Whilst doing a European cruise we were fortunate enough to visit the Greek islands. The area is stunning and rich in history, culture and beauty. We found this a great way to sample a number of the the islands in a short space of time. We cruised around the coast and visited a number of the islands including, Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Katacolon.
Crete, Greece's largest island, is known for its varied terrain, which ranges from fine-sand beaches at Elafonisi to the White Mountains. Mykonos is an island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. It's popularly known for its summer party atmosphere.
Katakolo is a seaside town in the municipality of Pyrgos in western Elis, Greece. It is situated on a headland overlooking the Ionian Sea and separating the Gulf of Kyparissia from the rest of the Ionian.
Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape.
